Restoring the health and esthetics of your smile

Gum recession — when the gum pulls back and exposes the root of the tooth — is a common problem that can affect a single area or the whole mouth. Beyond the esthetic aspect, it can lead to sensitivity, fragile teeth and a higher risk of periodontal problems.

At the clinic, we offer gum grafts to strengthen the tissues, protect the teeth and restore a harmonious gum line.

What is a gum graft?

A gum graft is a procedure that adds gum tissue to an area where the gum has thinned or receded. The goal is to:

  • Cover an exposed root
  • Thicken the gum to make it more resistant
  • Prevent the recession from progressing
  • Improve the esthetics of the smile

It is a commonly performed, precise and predictable treatment that contributes to the long-term health of the teeth.

Why do gums recede?

Gum recession can be caused by several factors:

  • Brushing too hard
  • Gum inflammation or disease (gingivitis, periodontitis)
  • Tooth position or malocclusion
  • Friction or muscle tension (lip frenum)
  • Smoking
  • Genetic factors

Even with good hygiene, some people are naturally more at risk.

How does the treatment work?

  1. Complete assessment
Analysis of the gum, the position of the teeth and risk factors.
  2. Preparing the area
Cleaning and disinfection to optimize healing.
  3. Performing the graft
The tissue is precisely positioned and stabilized.
  4. Post-operative follow-up
    Simple instructions ensure optimal healing.
  5. Regular check-ups
To make sure the treatment is stable and successful.

What are the benefits of a gum graft?

  • Lasting protection for the teeth
A thicker, stronger gum protects the root and reduces sensitivity.
  • Stops recession from progressing
The graft stabilizes the area and limits future risks.
  • Esthetic improvement
The gum line looks more even and harmonious again.
  • Greater comfort
Less sensitivity to cold, brushing or acidic foods.
  • Stronger periodontal health
Strong gums are an essential pillar of stable teeth.

An investment in the health and beauty of your smile

A gum graft is a reliable, lasting and essential treatment for preserving oral health. It protects your teeth, improves your comfort and gives you a more balanced smile.

The different types of grafts

Depending on the situation, several techniques can be used:

Connective tissue graft

The most common technique. A small sample is taken from under the gum of the palate to strengthen the area to be treated.

Free gingival graft

Used to thicken the gum, especially in very thin or fragile areas.

Graft with a tissue matrix

An alternative that requires no tissue from the palate, using a biocompatible biomaterial.

Each case is assessed individually to choose the most suitable method.
