Emergencies: we see you quickly, as a priority

A dental emergency can happen at any time and cause pain, worry or significant discomfort. At the Centre dentaire & d’implantologie Boucherville, we are committed to quickly seeing any patient with an emergency, whether or not they are already a patient of the clinic.

We handle a wide range of urgent situations, including:

  • minor trauma (a blow, fall or impact)
  • acute toothache
  • swelling, infection or abscess
  • persistent bleeding
  • broken or fractured teeth
  • broken or lost fillings
  • loose crowns or veneers
  • extreme sensitivity or pain when chewing
  • any other problem causing pain, discomfort or worry

Our priority is to relieve your pain, assess the situation and give you the care you need as soon as possible.

How quickly can I get an emergency appointment?

When you call, our team is trained to assess how serious your situation is. We will ask you a few simple questions to determine:

  • the nature of your pain
  • whether there is swelling or infection
  • whether trauma is involved
  • whether the situation requires immediate treatment

Every day, we set aside time slots dedicated to emergencies, which allows us to see you quickly, often the same day.

If your situation requires hospital care — for example, severe trauma, a complex fracture or an advanced infection — we will refer you to the appropriate facility to ensure your safety.

When should I seek emergency care?

You should call us right away if you have:

  • intense pain that doesn’t ease
  • swelling of the face or gum
  • fever along with a toothache
  • bleeding that won’t stop
  • a broken or knocked-out tooth
  • a taste of pus or discharge
  • difficulty opening your mouth or swallowing

In these situations, don’t wait: prompt treatment can prevent serious complications.

What happens during an emergency appointment?

During your visit, we carry out:

  1. A complete assessment of the painful area
Visual inspection, palpation, sensitivity tests, bite check.
  2. The necessary X-rays
To identify the exact cause: deep decay, fracture, infection, abscess, etc.
  3. A clear, immediate diagnosis
The dentist explains the situation and the treatment options.
  4. Fast pain relief
Depending on the case: prescription, drainage, adjustment, temporary repair or definitive treatment.
  5. A personalized treatment plan
To ensure complete healing and prevent recurrence.
